Website promotion is currently a very popular area, and many people consider it as an option for working online for beginners. But each country has its own peculiarities, and even if you have successful cases of SEO promotion in Ukraine, you will find many surprises in the American market.
Remote employees are currently needed for SEO promotion of businesses in the US, and they are often sought after in Ukraine because these services are cheaper here. But, there are certain differences that you need to find out for yourself.

In general, let's talk about the key differences and what you should look for if you come across a vacancy for online work for marketers to promote a website in the United States. In short, there are just three words - "Expensive, slow, justified". Now let's take it in order.

As a result, the majority of information on the Internet is created in English.

And from here we get the first simple rule. For Google, it is important to answer user requests as accurately and thoroughly as possible, so sites with high-quality and expert content are valued more and get to the top of search results.

In order for a website to be filled with good content and rank better, the text for it should be written by native speakers in their specialisation. The peculiarity of English-language SEO promotion is that it is easier to find a native English speaker than, for example, native German or French speakers, because there are many times less of them. This, by the way, applies not only to authors but also to designers and developers.

How to get into the English-language search results on the Internet

There are many points here, but first of all, let's find out everything about algorithms. In the American segment of the Internet (and the English-speaking segment in general), the EEAT algorithm is in the first place. It stands for Experience, Expertise, Authoritativeness, and Trust."

For example, let's imagine you need to promote a website for pharmaceutical production. To do this, it is crucial to place various documents confirming licensing and certification on your website. You should also have proof of the experience of your specialists, as well as expert articles from them dedicated to this field of activity. And finally, it is imperative that there are reviews from customers, and they should be authentic, not bought.

On the Ukrainian-language Internet, these requirements are not so strict, at least not yet. Our search engines are not yet so thorough in checking the level of expertise of both the author and his works.



Another important point is link building. It makes no sense to buy links on exchanges in the United States, as it does not work there. Only link building on an affiliate basis will be effective, as well as the maximum number of sources from which links will lead to your website.

Do not leave any empty fields, in general, provide as much information as possible about yourself. And don't forget to update regularly!

Don't be tempted to order a text from our copywriter and then translate it. Yes, it's cheaper, but to get a good result, you need a native speaker with expertise in your field.

Your relatively "young" website will not be able to compete with the leaders in the niche for highly competitive queries, so when collecting semantics, you need to focus on medium and low-competitive keywords. This will be your key to success. It is also useful to include geo-query in the semantic core.

Let's say you want to find a part-time job online as an SEO optimiser for a business that wants to start in the United States. One of the options to achieve good results will be to attract a "third force", or massive promotion of links to the site, but not through the exchanges we mentioned earlier.
  • First of all, you can analyse which bloggers or experts on Youtube are engaged in topics close to the business you want to promote. Communicate with them, you may be able to agree on mutually beneficial cooperation. They will mention you in their content and place a link, and this works well in the US. No one has cancelled guest posts, it is also relevant.
  • You can also post links in comments and blogs dedicated to "your" topic. This is also not a fast process, but it is quite reliable and brings results.
  • Use social media. Be sure to create accounts in all social networks such as Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and Pinterest may also be useful, depending on the profile of what you are promoting.


  • A purely American theme is to create a network of satellite sites that will eventually lead all users to your site. But it is expensive and not suitable for everyone, especially since it takes time. It requires full-time remote work and high qualifications in this area.
  • Also post more professional materials and publications that are likely to be referenced. In the United States, it is generally accepted that if someone's professional publication is used somewhere, it is referenced. This way, you will get additional potential, and possibly quite serious, depending on the demand and your specifics.

What is better not to do


We will advise beginners - do not try to promote websites that sell electronics or appliances. Usually, Americans buy these things on Ebay or Amazon, so if your employer is engaged in something similar and wants to promote itself in the American market, it should be promoted on Amazon, and not waste resources on Sisyphean labour.

It also makes no sense to invest in the promotion of websites for the sale or rental of real estate, there is too much competition and it is virtually impossible to become a leader.

Let's name a few more niches in which it will be very difficult to compete. These are the aviation industry, pharmaceuticals, production of various components for electronics and, of course, everything related to oil production and refining.

How to start website promotion in the USA


First of all, do not buy a ready-made domain. It may have a "bad history" with search engines, so why do you need extra problems? Therefore, you need to be very careful here.

  1. We have already talked about the benefits of regional promotion. In the USA, regional domains are popular, for example, nyc for New York. Pay attention to this if you are promoting in a particular state. If you are very ambitious and want to cover the whole country, then you need to take the us domain.
  2. Next, collect the semantic core. It is important to select the maximum number of possible queries, but we have already mentioned this. And don't be afraid of queries with a few words, Americans often use voice dialing, so a "long" query is quite adequate for the local specifics. Use services such as Ahrefs for this purpose.


  3. Your site should also have a mobile version. Google search algorithms always give preference to such sites, so to speak, mobile-first. No mobile version is an immediate minus to the search potential.

Another problem of the American market is the constant changes in the search algorithms of Google, which is the main search engine in this country. It often happens that after the next update, positions are lost literally instantly.



This implies the need for regular updates and monitoring of the temporary features of the search engine. You need to constantly adapt to its current rules and be ready for immediate changes. There is nothing that works forever, and during the period of updates, check your own positions manually.

As you can see, everything is much more complicated than in Ukrainian realities. That is why the price of SEO services in the USA is much higher than in Ukraine, because it requires additional costs and high quality.
